Artist's Comments

Originally titled: A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer...
but it didn't fit. And the fuller name still is three times as long.

I haven't done a piece inspired by a book in a while. I read Neal Stephenson's Diamond Age a while back, and he remains one of my favorite authors. (Neil Gaiman is still tops all in hearts on my peachie folder tho) So far I've only done art for Stephenson's stories. Weird. I should do some anime fanart or something.

I depicted a sort of more stylistic approach to Hackworth and the chevaline too, but I hope no one will fault me. I'm tired now. I painted this and the next one I'm posting at the same time... crazy!

Knew the title seemed familiar! I read that book a few months ago. Love his expression.

Awesome. I love all the little details - I can look at this one for ages and keep seeing new things!

I mgiht have to go out and find that book, then. Particularly if you're a Neil Gaiman fan - we might have similar tastes! ;P

Love the contrast of the electric blue against the more neutral brown tones. Great work per usual! :D
